Universities Superannuation Scheme is changing for the future

Universities Superannuation Scheme is the principal pension scheme provided by universities and other higher education and associated institutions in the UK. It has around 330,000 members across almost 400 institutions.

USS is changing and if you are an active member of the scheme who has not yet fully retired, there are changes you need to be aware of:

The first stage of scheme change implementation took place on 1 April 2016. All members of USS, and those joining the scheme, now join the new USS Retirement Income Builder. For more information on the USS Retirement Income Builder and how the new scheme works please visit USS.co.uk.

The second phase of implementation on 1 October 2016 will be the introduction of the new defined contribution section, the USS Investment Builder. For more information on the USS Investment Builder as well as resources, including factsheets, please visit the member area of the site.
